ABOUT THE INSTITUTION




Hindustan Engineering Training Center (H.E.T.C) educational society laid the corner stone in the field of Arts and Science with the inception of Hindustan College of Arts and Science to establish an educational institution of exceptional merit.

Hindustan College of Arts and Science opened its gates to the student fraternity in 1995. It is a premier institution, which is recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to the University of Madras. The college campus has been meticulously designed and houses state-of-the-art laboratories, well-stacked libraries, cafeteria, spacious auditoriums, and excellent boarding and lodging are available for both boys and girls. We employ a dedicated team of academicians hand picked to impart the highest quality education. HCAS maintains a cosmopolitan atmosphere with students from all corners of the globe studying in its fold.

The college is located at Padur, about 22 kms. South of Chennai city, on the Old Mahabhalipuram road. The campus is spread over a lush green stretch of nearly 120 acres overlooking the scenic Muttukadu Lake. For the convenience of its students and staff, the college operates its own transport system, which picks up and drop them back on a daily basis






ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The main focus of the Computer Science Department is to train the students to shine in the most competitive Information Technology field as well as to motivate them to be disciplined citizen. In addition to the above, counseling, placement training, industrial visits, personality development programs etc are done for the benefit of the students

B.Sc. (computer Science)

B.C.A (Day and Evening)

M.Sc. (Computer Science)

M.Sc. (Information Technology)

Curricular Activities

The department of C.S. conducted seminar and on Multimedia,Network Security and Web Designing apart from these, the staff concentrate on individual students to improve the students.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The students from the department of Computer Science were encouraged to participate in technical, non technical and sports activities. As a response there was a very good feed back from the students. Adding yet another feather to the cap. The students were awarded in various events. The department congratulates all the prize winners and participants.

Research and Development

To give real time project experience to the students the staff members get together with students for developing various projects.

Counseling

We conduct frequent counseling to students to help them cope with the pressure of the modern times.

Workshops

Apart from theoretical approach on computers, to give a practical experience on computers and their components and their working the department conducted a hardware workshop where the students where taught assembling of a system by explaining components.

Personality development

To develop the students interpersonal skills, the Department conducted various personality development programmes with experienced staff.

Placement

Apart from the academic assistance the department is keen in guiding the final year students for their placements in various areas.

Industrial visit

To give students an industrial exposure and knowledge, the students were taken to various companies like TCS, Pentamedia, Cosmosoft etc.

Alumini association

We have maintained the database of passed out students and have frequent contacts with them.

Freshers Role

In order to eliminate the difference between the juniors and seniors, the college has celebrated freshers day in which our department students participated in the programmes.

LAB

We have two separate labs for Under Graduate and Post Graduate students with high profile system administrators and Hardware Engineers.
